Position Offered: National Development OfficerAutism South Africa, the recognised national body for people with autism in South Africa seeks a candidate for the position of National Development Officer (NDO) who will work from the offices of Autism South Africa in Johannesburg.
The purpose of the NDO will be collecting national data on the challenges in South Africa in the area of autism, then summarising and collating data. Be responsible for the initialisation, development of provincial structures, with sustainability plans, as well as building on existing affiliations. New position, therefore Key Performance Areas likely to change over time.
The National Development Officer will be reporting to the National Director of Autism South Africa and the National Executive Committee of Autism South Africa.
Qualifications:
* Post graduate
* Previous experience working in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders for at least a year is strongly preferred, or at minimum, 2 years experience of working full-time in the field of disability
* Minimum 2 years proven ability in project management/development
·History of interacting with Government structures.
·Good office management and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Internet and Excel).
·Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
·Public speaking experience and skills
·Must be available to regularly travel around South Africa, either by flying or through personal driving.
·Valid driver’s license and own transport.
