Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist

The Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Senior Occupational Therapist from 13 September 2010 to lead a team of 6 full and part-time occupational therapists (both Arabic and English speaking) and to be a member of the Senior Management Team of the Centre. Native speakers of English are preferred.

Applicants should have:
    * Ideally a minimum of 5 years specialist clinical experience in Paediatrics
    * supervision and management experience
    * familiarity with school based and/or community based service delivery
    * familiarity with multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary approaches

The core job salaried hours are from 8am to 2pm Sunday to Thursday, with further out-patient work available on commission 2pm - 5pm Sun to Wed.

The Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre is a school for about 150 children with moderate to severe special needs. It has three classes of children with CP who have good cognitive skills. We also have a strong trans-disciplinary early intervention programme. After 2pm the centre operates as a general paediatric therapy centre with therapists working on a commission basis.

There is a currently a great team of full and part-time therapists trained in NZ, the UK, S.Africa, Jordan, Lebanon, Australia, the US and Belgium.
