Definition of Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists use scientifically chosen meaningful activities to assist diverse clients with a range of problems to maximise their functioning.

This empowers them to be as independent as possible and to experience dignity and quality of life at work, at home and at play.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa is to be recognised as the organisation that represents occupational therapy in South Africa and is committed to the support and development of its members, as well as ensuring that occupational therapy is provided for all those who need the service.
