OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST AT NURTURE AURORA / GQEBERHA
Our Group Practice at Nurture Aurora in Gqeberha is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their acute Palesa team.
Nurture Health provides medical, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation treatment for people with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries. These include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and other debilitating conditions and illnesses. Our organisation helps people who have become physically or cognitively impaired with the means to lead meaningful lives, regardless of any disability they may have acquired or circumstances they are returning to.
The Palesa Acute team conducts initial assessments and treatment in the acute setting, as appropriate, for patients who have been referred to our facility.
Minimum Salary: R25 863.00 Cost to Company
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
• BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (community year completed)
• Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance
• Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA
• Bobath / NDT training is beneficial
• Basic / Intermediate wheelchair training is beneficial
• Experience working with patients in an acute hospital setting is advantageous.
• Willingness and passion to work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Valid driver’s license with own transport

• Knowledge of the ICF Framework
• Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous)

• Computer literacy (Beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook)
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Able to work independently
Apart from treating and billing patients, you will also be expected to:
• Develop strong interpersonal relationships with the MDT in the various acute hospitals, while always maintaining professionalism, and assisting with marketing our facility accordingly.
• Complete documentation in the various acute hospitals as per their standards and processes.
• Complete the initial reports and updates as requested by our case management team.
