We are looking for an innovative, forward thinking and experienced occupational therapist, with a heart for helping children, to join our multi-disciplinary team at Pretoria Preparatory School. Our school aims to create a positive and supportive environment for children with remedial needs.
Position: Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Location: Brooklyn, Pretoria, South Africa
Type: Permanent (Fixed Monthly Salary)
Starting date: 13 October 2025
Responsibilities:
As one of our occupational therapists, you will:
• Assess children to understand their unique needs and create personalised treatment plans.
• Provide weekly individual and group therapy sessions to learners from Grade 0-7.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of speech therapists, occupational therapists, teachers and parents.
• Keep records of assessments, treatments and progress in therapy.
• Join in on parent days, case conferences, team meetings and workshops.
• Be a full-time member of staff, fully immersed in school life at PPS.
Working hours: Therapy from 7:30 – 14:00, Mondays to Fridays, with additional responsibilities to address during the afternoon school program.
Requirements
• Minimum 7 years’ experience post community service.
• Special interest or experience in working in a school.
• A relevant degree in occupational therapy.
• Qualification in Sensory Integration.
• Registered with HPCSA, OTASA and BHF.
• Medical malpractice insurance.
• Relevant police clearance, sexual offenses register and child protection register certificates.
• Fluent in English.
