OT WEEK 2026 Competition Terms and Conditions

THEME: Participation Matters: Transforming Lives Through Meaningful Occupation.

OTASA invites members to showcase how Occupational Therapy enables participation and transforms lives through meaningful occupation.

This year’s competition will run across the four OT Week themes, with one winner selected for each theme. Entrants are encouraged to share creative and inspiring examples of Occupational Therapy in practice while promoting the value of the profession.

 

  1. CONTENT REQUIREMENTS:

Record a short video (max 2 minutes) showing how you are Transforming Lives Through Meaningful Occupation. Please ensure you have obtained consent if clients feature in your videos.

  • Participants must:
  • Upload their video on the Instagram profile and pin it for the duration of the competition.
  • Tag OTASA on the applicable platform.
  • Include the official OT Week hashtag(s). which are:

#ParticipationMatters #OTWeek2026 #OccupationMatters

  • Submit the video link or video file to marketing@otoffice.co.za
    • Include the following information with your submission
  • Full name
  • OTASA Branch name
  • OTASA/HPCSA registration number
    • Only current OTASA members may enter the competition

 

  1. COMPETITION THEMES

 

2.1 Participants may submit a video aligned to one of the following OT Week themes:

  • Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • Children, Youth & School Participation
  • Physical Rehabilitation & Independence
  • Community Participation & Inclusion

 

  • One winning video will be selected from each theme category.

 

  1. JUDGING CRITERIA BY THE OTASA MARKETING, PR AND ADVOCACY STANDING COMMITTEE

Entries will be evaluated according to:

  • Relevance to the theme
  • Demonstration of meaningful participation
  • Creativity and originality
  • Professional representation of Occupational Therapy
  • Consent of participants

 

Please note: The decision of the OTASA Marketing Subcommittee will be final.

 

  1. CONTENT Terms & Conditions

 

By entering the competition, participants grant OTASA permission to:

  • Share submitted videos across OTASA social media platforms.
  • Use videos for OT Week and World OT Day promotional purposes.
  • Feature winning entries on the OTASA website, newsletters, and store the video for a period of 3 months after which it will be deleted

 

  1. Videos must be the original work of the entrant

 

  1. The OTASA Marketing Subcommittee reserves the right to disqualify:
    • Incomplete entries.
    • Videos submitted after the closing on the 25th of September at 12h00
    • Videos that do not align with the competition theme.
    • Videos without appropriate consent.

 

  1. PRIZES

Four Winners

  • 1 Winner: Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • 1 Winner: Children, Youth & School Participation
  • 1 Winner: Physical Rehabilitation & Independence
  • 1 Winner: Community Participation & Inclusion

Prize per winner: R1,500

 

  1. WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
  • Winners will be announced on OTASA social media platforms by 30 September 2026.
  • Winners will be contacted by email prior to the official announcements
